Visa- Its everywhere you want to be

A visa credit card? Yes, its accepted here (most places) but no, we're talking about the visas in our passports. Every year we have the joy/excitement/pleasure/(insert any sarcastically positive word here) to renew our visas. What does that mean? Well, first step is go to the notary and sign at least 100 documents (please note my sarcasm). No wait, first you wait in line to sign the 100 documents. Then you sign the 100 documents. After that, you get yet another passport photo taken. Lets not forget last year when we had to call the state of Virginia, get a marriage certificate with an apostile on it and have it "overnighted" to the Czech Republic. Lastly, sometime before your visa expires (last year I went the day it expired)you go to the foreign police at the crack of dawn, wait in an insane line and hope/pray!/cross your fingers/wear your lucky socks that you walk out of that building with a 3"x4" piece of paper glued in your passport. Don't get me wrong, I am VERY thankful we have visas and we have the opportunity to live here... especially legally. Because our visa is truly "everywhere you want to be" with the new European Union law. As a matter of fact, we wouldn't be able to travel outside of the Czech Republic or even go home if we didn't have it... This year we ran into our friend's, the Stewart's, at the notary. We played with their adorable little boy, Sasha, while we all waited because lets face it: we're all in it together! I can't decide if we entertained him or if he entertained us!
