We camped at Lake Bled and borrowed lots of camping gear, including an air mattress so that made the experience much easier for some camping weenies like us. From this picture you can see how beautiful the lake is. One thing we really liked about it though is that there isn't too much development in the area. There are no lakeside villas so we could walk all the way around the lake without running into private property.
Here is half our group as we are about to set out to the island in the middle of the lake. This turned into an adventure as i snapped one of the oars and had to paddle standing with one oar only.

We also went to the capital city Ljubljana for a day trip. Laura by the 3 bridges:
Tim eating some blue ice cream:
And now a hot horse burger (yes, horse meat...Its good, but very strange for Americans):

On the way back we stopped at Hitler's Eagle's Nest on the Austian-German border near Salzburg. The building at the top was a 50th birthday present to Hitler from his party in 1938. The view is very nice. We tried to stop on the way down to slovenia but the weather was cloudy. On the way back we were fortunate to get a clear day. It reminded me of being back in the motherland (CH) but without the hospital visit.

These pictures are so amazing! And your wife is so cool to do all that traveling and climbing and camping while pregnant. :) And CONGRATULATIONS on becoming parents! It is so much fun!
